Physicians are the only people in a practice who can treat and heal patients, and they are the only people in a practice who can generate revenue. The current fee for service model makes the physician reimbursement process cumbersome and complicated.
ICD-10 will be one of the biggest changes to healthcare in the past 30 years.
It threatens both physician productivity and revenue cycle efficiency for physician practices. Industry thought leaders focus their solutions on hospitals and health systems; however most of these approaches for ICD-10 do not translate to the ambulatory world.
